There are many possibilities for a great family day out in your own city. Museums, aquariums and zoos offer special events throughout the school holiday period – many of which are free. Check online or the tourism bureau of your city for a list of what’s on when.

3. Family Vacation


Pack your bags and take the family on a trip to the Gold Coast, the theme park capital of Australia. With Wet ‘n’ Wild, Dream World, Movie World and Sea World, all within reach, you'll find plenty of ways to occupy the kids – and have some fun yourself!

Tip: While in Queensland don’t miss out on a visit to Australia Zoo to see the amazing legacy of Steve Irwin.
