You’ll also need a 2400mm length of 38 x 19mm pine to make the 6mm trim. TIP For a better quality finish use BB-grade hoop pine, which costs about $170 a sheet. |

STEP 1
Cut the parts
If the supplier hasn’t cut the parts, mark up the plywood (see Diagram 1) measure the offset distance on the circular saw from the blade to the edge of the baseplate. Clamp a straightedge at the offset distance from the cut line to cut.

STEP 2
Make the hose holder
Mark out four half circles, 165mm in diameter, and one 260mm in diameter, and cut using a jigsaw. Join the smaller half circles, securing with adhesive, clamp and leave to dry. Smooth with a belt sander then secure to the larger half circle.

STEP 3
Assemble the unit
Mark the centre of the sides, dividers, and shelves on the back and top to drill 2mm pilot holes join the sides to the back, then secure the top. Attach the outside shelf and hose holder, dividers, the wide shelf and the smaller shelves (see Diagram 2).

STEP 4
Add the trim and finish
Cut the pine to make trim for the top, with mitres on front corners and position on the top with a 19mm lip, securing with adhesive and nails. Cut 19 x 6mm strips of pine to cover the raw edges, securing with adhesive. Apply two coats of clear polyurethane.
Fix to the wall
Locate the wall studs and drill four clearance holes in the plywood back. Secure with 90 x 6mm coach screws and washers.
