Build a resort-style cabana

 Lay the posts on a level surface to position the base rails against them. Mark the position of the castors then drill 3.5mm pilot holes, using bugle head screws to secure through the castor base plates and rails into the posts.

 

 

Use a mitresaw to cut the end of the rails parallel at 15o. Position them on the posts to mark two holes 20mm from the edge, use a drill with 3.5mm bit to make pilot holes then a 12mm spade bit to make 5mm deep recesses.

 

 

Position the top rails, securing to the posts with bugle head screws and using a builder’s square to check the lower frame for square. Position the side rails flush with the outside of the posts, securing with bugle head screws.

 

 

 Stand the side frames up then clamp the front and back rails to drill 10mm diameter clearance holes, securing with cuphead bolts. Cut parallel mitres on the diagonal braces, position them on the back rails to drill clearance holes, securing with bolts.

 

Apply primer and two coats of exterior acrylic to the frame and lattice and leave to dry. Clamp the lattice with the front edge square to the front posts and the back overhanging, make 2mm pilot holes in the lattice and posts, securing with timber screws.

 

 

Use a handsaw to trim the overhanging lattice flush with the back posts. Touch up the edges with paint and leave to dry. Attach the cover using a snap fastener kit.
