This property had a boundary defined by a fence with large brick columns at the driveway but no gates. The solution was to match the architectural style and colour of the country homestead with a pair of lightweight gates.

Spanning almost 3500mm the gates are made from dressed all round (DAR) Western red cedar and hung on 75mm square galvanised posts concreted into the ground.

A pair of electric openers secure to the posts and are powered by a solar panel for automatic movement.

SETTING OUT THE GATE
Each gate is 1700mm wide with a 15mm clearance between the stiles and posts plus a 15mm gap at the centre.

Mark up a full-size setout on two 2400 x 1200mm sheets of MDF, ensuring the parts are square and aligned before cutting the pieces and positioning them on the MDF.
