| RD Editor on 30 January 2012 ,11:58 Hi Colleen, roses should be pruned twice a year, with the main pruning done in winter. Cut again in summer, reducing bushes by about a third. Pruning roses: http://ow.ly/8KuvB For lavender, it's best to cut off the dead flower stems and lightly trim the plants in late summer. Straggly plants may be cut back hard in early spring to promote bushy growth and encourage new shoots. Growing lavender: http://ow.ly/8KuAt Kind regards, RD Editor |
