Mosaic Herb Pots
STEP 6
Create the border
Apply small glass mosaics to make the border around the design, starting at the top.
TIP: We positioned a light green tile as the centre of the border and worked to the left and right from there. The background around the design was then filled in with random-shaped tiles.
STEP 7
Create the back and rim
Using white ceramic tiles, work from either side of the main design until tiles meet at the back
of the pot. Cut final tiles to fill the resulting wedge shape. Apply more adhesive around the rim to make the two-tone pattern using large tiles. Leave to dry overnight.
STEP 8
Apply the grout
Mix up the grout and apply by hand (wearing rubber gloves), pressing between the tiles to
completely fill the gaps. Wipe away excess with a damp sponge, taking care not to spread it back over already rinsed areas. When grout is dry, buff the surface with a lint-free cloth.
TIP: We used white grout, but there are many colours to choose from.
DESIGN TEMPLATES
You may decide to create your own designs, but if you opt to use the pair below, simply cut them out and scale accordingly to suit your pots. You can mix and match the designs on pots, or arrange them together on a long planter.
