Sprightly Santa Christmas card Photo: Reader's Digest

Sprightly Santa

Here’s a Santa with a stylish attitude, but he’ll still bring lots of presents. Make him from felt squares, readily available from craft stores, or you may have scraps of felt in your ragbag.

You will need:
• 3 in. x 5 in. (7.5 cm x
13 cm) red felt
• 21/2 in. (6 cm) square of white felt
• 1 1/4 in. (3 cm) square of pink felt
• 2 in. x 3 1/2 in. (5 cm x
9 cm) of beige felt
• 1 1/4 in. (3 cm) square black felt
• 9 in. x 8 in. (24 cm x
20 cm) of silver card folded to 4 1/2 in. x 8 in. (12 cm x 20 cm)
• fabric glue

1. Using the photograph as a color guide, transfer the shapes from the templates (download above) to the different colored felts. Cut out with scissors.

2. Starting with the body, position and glue in place on the card. Position the legs and right arm and glue in place.

3. Next position the face, hands and hat and glue in place.  Add the present bag.

4. Glue all the white felt in place and finally add the shoes.
