One solution is to lift the pavers to cut back the roots. The bedding sand is then rescreeded and the pavers repositioned with sand to fill the joints.
All you need is a crowbar or long screwdriver to lift the pavers, a screed board and rails, steel float, and a lump hammer and bolster.

| driveway sealer on 20 December 2011 ,21:15 Pavers are an attractive addition to a home, whether used in the driveway, as a patio, or in a retaining wall. They are a viable alternative to flat concrete or wood. Pavers are usually made of clay, concrete or stone, such as tumbled marble. The maintenance required for all types of pavers is not onerous, particularly if a regular program is established soon after installation. Check for deeply rooted weeds growing between pavers, which can uproot a paver. These should be removed. If a green vein is desirable between the pavers, sprinkle some short-rooting grass or herb seed into the sand and watch it grow.
