Top tips for trimming down in the New Year

*Stacked on the weight over Christmas and want to get it off? Put a heart rate monitor on when you do cardio training and keep your heart rate low at around 60% of max heart rate, this is very effective Cardio threshold to burn fat, Its boring but effective!
*New year’s resolutions; set realistic long and short term goals. Get a big picture of where you want to be in a year then breaking it down into monthly and weekly schedules of both weight training and cardio vascular training systems. People who start with direction, generally get to where they want to go!
*Training partner. Find someone at the same level of training to partner with. When you train with someone you get the assistance and extra push that is essential if you are looking for great results. Start a training journal and log your efforts and keep giving the numbers a nudge in the right direction. If you can't find a training partner get a Personal trainer to get you on track!
*Finding a balance between healthy nutrition and good exercise to get yourself back on track after the festivities. All those big nights and dinners won't take care of themselves you should get straight on top of it. Five small meals a day, with a good balance of Protein to starch ratio through the day, and then cut the carbs at night, protein only.
*A detox is a great way to start the New Year. It helps shift all the toxins from alcohol and super rich festive dinners. Get the liver working to its full potential again!
