“Why not spend a few days travelling the North Coast rail line this winter?” asks Vintage Rail Journeys Owner Mr Simon Mitchell.

With two Rail Tours already successfully in market, Vintage Rail Journeys has launched a new tour for Winter 2021.

“The Golden West and the Riverina Rail Tours are already really popular with our guests,” Mr Mitchell said “and our guests were telling us that they wanted to travel along the North Coast Rail line from Sydney to Brisbane, so that’s what we will do in 2021” he said.

The North Coast Rail Tour has been designed to be offered during winter as a three and a half day/ three night tour, leaving Central Station on a Wednesday. The train then makes its way up the Coast stopping in Paterson, the Macleay Valley and Casino (for Byron Bay) terminating in Brisbane.

“We have once again found some amazing off-train experiences for our guests to support the time spent on the Aurora Australis sleeping train” Mr Mitchell said.

“We spend time in regional towns such as Maitland and Morpeth along with Kempsey where some of our guests may not have visited the amazing National Parks or seen the sea from the sheer cliffs” he said.

Back on the train, guests experience local wine and produce all with first class service from Vintage Rail Journeys hand picked crew.

“The train consists of ex-Southern Aurora carriages and at just over 400 meters long she is a real show stopper” Mr Mitchell said.

Vintage Rail Journeys currently works in conjunction with the Lachlan Valley Railway (LVR) and Transport Heritage NSW (THNSW) and other rail heritage organisations to deliver these tours.

The return journey leaves Brisbane on the Saturday and arrives in Sydney on the following Tuesday. Vintage Rail Journeys anticipate running only one of these return journeys in 2021 with additional departures in 2022 based on demand.
