Try a rosewater spray
Get glowing summer skin by incorporating rosewater into your beauty routine. This all-natural cult favourite has antibacterial, antiseptic, and anti-inflammatory properties, making it the perfect solution to hot and sweaty days. Spritz it onto your face to refresh your makeup after lunch, add a few drops to your moisturiser in the morning, or spray some onto your bed sheets to soothe your senses after a long day. If you take a sprayer of rosewater to the beach, store the bottle in your cooler. By the time you’re ready to leave, it’ll be the ultimate facial refresher.
Stock up on rockmelon
Along with making a refreshing summer snack, rockmelon is great for your skin. “This sweet delicious fruit is rich in antioxidants and delivers a unique hydration to the skin, resulting in a radiant complexion,” anti-ageing dermatologist, Dr Nicholas Perricone, told InStyle.
Don’t miss these tricks for naturally glowing skin (no makeup or expensive products required!).
Switch to a water-based moisturiser
In the hot sun, oil-based moisturisers might begin to feel thick and heavy. Try a lighter, more absorbable water-based moisturiser.
Try a clay face mask
A quality clay mask will curb oiliness and lift away grease and dirt. But don’t allow the mask to cake up – rinse it off as soon as the clay gets sticky. Otherwise, you run the risk of totally drying out your skin.
Swap out your foundation
Primers are more specialised than ever and can be bought to target all skin types. Certain colour-correcting formulas can even smooth out your skin tone as well as foundation. If you’re not ready to give up on makeup completely, try switching to a tinted moisturiser. It’ll feel lighter than foundation while still giving you coverage.
Wear breathable clothing
Lightweight fabrics such as linen and cotton work well in summer for three reasons: they tend to float away from the body and keep you cool, they’re easy to keep clean (think fresh cotton undershirts), and because they’re all-natural, they’re less irritating to sensitive skin.
Cut back on exfoliation
Although it might be tempting to scrub away at sweaty skin, when the sun’s rays are in full swing, it’s best to exfoliate just once a week. Over-exfoliating can leave skin extra-vulnerable to sun damage.

Get a closer shave
To get the best shave, lather your legs with a moisturising shaving cream and smooth over them in a downward motion with a four- or five-blade razor. Reapply your shaving cream and do a second pass in an upward motion. Treat razor burn with a warm compress.
